How To Replace The Glass On The Back Of Your iPhone 8/8+

Before getting into the different ways you can repair the glass on the back of your iPhone, the best answer is simply to take it into Tech Genius. Apple makes it difficult to get into their hardware and if you try to do so yourself, you’ll lose your warranty and could risk further damage to your iPhone. Going to a certified cell phone repair company is, without a question, your best option.

There’s no doubt that Apple makes it as difficult as possible to crack into their hardware. The glass is held to the frame with a strong epoxy. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is, an epoxy is used to fuse internal and external frames. It’s not as easy as you think to simply pry it off. If you do that, you run the risk of completely ruining the phone.

It may be too easy to seek a mall kiosk repair shop to do it. But even with that being said, it’s not a certainty that they’ll be able to do it safely. Be smart and take your phone to the pros. Regardless of what price you’re paying, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. If you choose to take your phone to an uncertified repair shop, they might cause further damage to your phone. After you’ve paid them, and they damage your phone, you’re going to need to pony up and buy a new phone.

Taking it to Tech Genius will still keep your warranty running (in the event that you have a warranty). For more questions on the cost of replacing glass, go to techgenius.ca.

We have said this multiple times but please do not try to repair the back of your iPhone by yourself. The risk doesn’t outweigh the reward. If everything goes according to your plan, sure. You’ll have your phone again without any hitches or strings attached. However, it’s so easy for things to go south. The risk associated with repairing your phone is facing the consequence of possibly buying a new phone.

You’re better off taking your phone to a certified Apple repair shop and getting it fixed. At least that way you don’t have to worry about if the repair is questionable.

If you’re unsure about any of your options, feel free to visit Tech Genius at 796 Brant Street Unit #3 in Burlington, Ontario, or call us at 905-333-3345.
